Foodworks sell roast meals but today I only got their bbq chicken and a container with baked vegetables not the meal deal. It did 4 serves.
This is the easy way to get a roast dinner without heating up the kitchen on a hot summer day.
Tip: Their meal deal comes with 1 serve: peas and gravy, 1/4 chicken and roast veg per serving @$5.95. It works out cheaper cutting the chicken up from whole chicken into 4 and purchasing a large container of roast vegetables 600g which does 4 serves plus 1 bunch broccolini. Total cost $15.99 for 4 serves ($3.99/serve without gravy)
Ingredients serves 4
1 whole BBQ (rotisserie) Chicken
1 bunch fresh broccolini
1 large container cooked roast root vegetables
I served these out in takeaway container with lids to freeze for a day I don’t want to cook.
They will reheat in microwave for 2-3minutes from frozen.
Pull apart chicken off bones and get rid of the skin.
Place equal amounts of chicken in each container.
Serve same amount of roast vegetables in each container.
Same with broccolini. (*will cook when time to reheat)
Put lid on and freeze
To reheat Place meal on plate and microwave for 2-3 minutes until heated
