Sauces : Homemade BBQ

I was researching a bbq marinade for some pork ribs and came across a good recipe for bbq sauce. I had most of  the ingredients but have substituted some for what I had. . I have tweaked qty of some things to adjust balance and flavour for my taste. So here is my tweaked version. Use with pork, Chicken, BBQ Meat, Steak, Snags.

BBQ Sauce homemade #1

Ingredients (*My qty as per saucepan above)

4 Tb Salt Reduced Tomato Sauce

2Tb Mothers Earth Apple Cider Vinegar

4Tb 100%Pure Canadian Maple Syrup

4Tb Brown Sugar

2Tb Kepjap Manis (Sweet Indonesian Soy)

1/2tsp Garlic Powder

1/2tsp Onion Powder

1/2Tb Sriarcha

1/2tsp Chili Powder

-Grinder 1 Twist of each Sea-salt, Black Pepper

1/2tsp Sweet Smoked Paprika

2Tb Worcestershire Sauce


Place all ingredients in small pot and mix on high for 5 minutes then turn to simmer for 15minutes until sauce thickens. Stir so it doesn’t burn on the bottom of pot. Decant into glass jars or sauce bottle. Will keep for a few weeks in fridge *(it probably wont last that long though- it’s so good! Haha)

BBQ Sauce Ingredients

BBQ Sauce #1 on pan-fried Chicken Thighs (Free Range, No antibiotics in chickens)

Tip to use on pork ribs: use a dry rub of sea-salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, coriander dried and mix well then coat ribs. Place in slow cooker and coat with bbq sauce (recipe above) Slow cook on low for 8hr or high for 4hrs.
