Soups: Heart Friendly with Lentils

I use to do this soup without the lentils but decided to add them for a different soup. Great on a cold rainy day and very healthy and filling to warm you up.  As the weather gets colder I will be making a lot more soups. 

Barb’s Heart Friendly Soup with Lentils


Ingredients serves 4

1 Onion diced

2 cloves garlic crushed

1 Celery Stalk sliced

1 Carrot Sliced

1 Cup Green Beans

1/2 Tin Crushed Tomatoes Organic

1/2 Tin Organic Lentils Drained

1 Vegetable Stock Cube

1 Cup Water

3 Handfuls raw Pasta (*Cook separately to speed up soup)

1/2 Jar Basil Pasta Sauce or Passata (You can add a whole jar if you like lots broth)

1 Pouch Tomato Paste Salt Reduced

light pinch sea-salt, black pepper


Cook pasta in microwave bowl with water just covering the pasta for 8 minutes then keep

water to add to the soup as it thickens the soup.

To Cook on stove top :

Chop the remaining ingredients all equal size for even cooking.

Then add the stock and water. (*can use bone broth if you have it)

Add remaining ingredients including cooked pasta with pasta water to pot

simmer for 15 minutes until vegetables are cooked.
