Grass Fed Beef Mince #1 Base

Using Grass Fed Beef Mince for different meals . Out of 2x 500g packs of mince I got 4 meals. see recipes below. These are also paleo recipes that I revert back to. The shaxo xing cooking wine may not be paleo. I didn’t have any red wine which is usually in the recipe. It is also the base for bolognaise sauce.

Grass fed Beef Mince #1

Base : 

500g Grass Fed Beef Mince

1 onion diced

1 carrot diced

1 celery stalk diced

1tsp Garlic Powder

1tsp Cumin

light pinch white pepper

light pinch sea-salt

1Tb Shao Xing Cooking Wine

1 Beef Stock Pot

1Tb Coconut Oil

Method : 

Chop ingredients to same size for even cooking.

Cook all together in saucepan with oil until mince is cooked through.

Then divide the mixture by half for 2 different meals.

Meal 1: 

1/2 Qty Base Grass Fed Beef Mince Mixture

400g salt reduced red kidney beans drained and washed under water to remove brine

1tsp Mexican Chili Powder

1tsp Cayenne Pepper

1tsp coriander leaves dried

1tsp coriander seed dried

1tsp oregano

1tsp cardamom dried

1/2 sachet salt reduced tomato paste

1/2 x 400g can organic diced tomatoes

1tb tomato sauce salt reduced


Add to base mix and cook through until flavours develop.

Meal 2: Shepherds pie

1/2  grass fed mince base #1 mixture

1/2 Salt Reduced tomato paste sachet

1/2 x 400g Organic Diced Tomato

1tsp thyme


To base add above ingredients and mix through

Then Make Potato Mash topping:

50g Instant Mash Potato

1 TB Hot Water

2Tb Lactose free Milk

1tsp Cholesterol lowering margarine

Mix together with mash to make topping.

Fill 2 ramekins with the beef mixture then top with potato mash
